Anti Aging Oily Skin Product Treatment & Care
Finding the right anti aging oily skin product can be difficult as most anti aging cosmetic products are rich in oils to act against lines and wrinkles.
Most anti aging skin care products are designed for the mature skin, which is naturally dry and therefore prone to fine lines. An anti aging oily skin product should include active anti aging ingredients on an water based formular.
Are you an oily combination skin type?
Skin is put into following categories or types:
- oily
- dry
- normal
- or a combination of any
On top of your skin type you can have one or more of the following skin condition:
- sensitive
- dehydrated
- pigmented
Aging does not fall into these categories as skin aging affects all skin types.
To find the right anti aging oily skin product you need to determine exactly what your skin type is.
If you have only an oily T-zone and the rest of your skin is normal, you would have a combination oily/normal skin for example.
Combination oily skin types need to be treated differently than all-over oily skins.
Once you have established your exact skin type and condition (if any) you can than select an appropriate anti aging oily skin product.
Acne
Acne is a skin dissorder and not a skin type or condition. It's medical name is acne vulgaris. Acne can be appear at any age, but usually starts with puperty.
Acne need to treated carefully as the lesions can become easily inflammed and leave unsightly scars and pockmarks. The prevention of scars and acne scar removal is an important issue for acne sufferes.
If you have acne and are concerned about aging, I recommend to use your normal acne regime and focus on using anti aging treatments around the eye area and neck as these are the areas that start showing signs of aging first.
Simple guide lines for combination oily skin types
combination oily/dry
This skin types usually has got a oily T-zone and is dry on the checks. Care should be taken not to use oily skin products all over.
I recommend to use a cleanser and toner for normal skin and treat the t-zone with a separate oil controlling gel or lotion. Then use a oil based moisturiser leaving out the t-zone. Include Essential Fatty acids in your diet.
combination oily/normal
This skin types is similar to the one above. Follow the same instruction but instead of using an oil based moisturiser you can use an lighter anti aging oily skin product.
combination oily/sensitive
This skin types is probably the most difficult to look after. Stay away from harsh alcohol based products. Less product and treating the sensitivity first is the key. Use a very gentle cleanser and toner for sensitive skin. Follow by a lightweight lotion containing ingredients like zinc, green tea and aloe vera. Include nutritional supplements and essential fatty acids in your diet.
combination oily/dehydrated
This skin types needs the same attention as the oily normal skin, however the moisturiser should be water based and contain hyaluronic acid to attract water to the skin. Also look at your water intake and your diet. Again essential fatty acids and a complete nutritional supplement help to balance the skin.
combination oily/pigmented
Use a cleanser and toner for oily skin. (I recommend to balance with gentle products rather than strip! See below) Treat the pigmentation with a serum containing brightening ingredients like bearberry extract, vitamin c, kojic acid or licorice extract. Follow with an oily skin moisturising lotion.
Essential fatty acids and nutritional supplements to treat the oily skin from within.

Daniela's Tip for Anti Aging Oily Skin Product
Taking a Nutritional Supplement will help to normalise your skin. I strongly recommend to ad essential fatty acids into your diet. Even though it sounds weard to ad more oil to your diet, essential fatty acids work wonders on the skin.
A hormone imbalance can also lead to oily skin. This can be easy fixed by taking a herbal hormone balancing supplement.
To look after your oily skin and prevent from premature aging I recommend to use only gentle, ph balancing products. Alcohol in products is drying the skin too much out and can even damage the skin over time. Tea Tree (diluted or in product) is fine to use as antiseptic.
