Big Lines Under Eyes

I'm a 16 yr. old male and have these big lines under my eyes. I don’t think that they are bag. The lines come from my eye and go about 45 degrees across my upper cheek. Any advice which wouldn't involve make up?

At your age it is very unlikely that you have already wrinkles, which are due to the skin being damaged. Wrinkles are the result of the break down of the connective tissues in the skin. When collagen and elastin fibres are damaged to such a degree that their not able to support the skin anymore.

Big lines under the eyes are probably crease lines that occur from sleeping. If you are involved in an activity that requires some sort of face protection or mask than this may also be the cause.

These lines are caused when the skin gets creased for a longer period of time. If you are sleeping on your face, the skin gets pushed with the weight of your head into the pillow. The skin creases and stays in that position for several hours. When you wake up you have deep lines in your face.

The same for face protectors or masks. For example a diving mask that may crease the face.

I do not believe that these big lines under the eyes are a result of squinting at your age. The skin would usually bounce back without problems.

My advice is to find out what may cause the lines. Try a satin pillow case if the lines are caused by sleeping on the face. Satin is a very soft and smooth surface that will not crease the face.

By stimulating the blood circulation the lines will go away faster. Use a facial brush when cleansing your face. These brushes are available in drugstores and supermarkets. Move the brush with circular motions over the lines and all around the face. This will increase blood circulation.

Another option is to massage the creases out with facial massages. Apply a little facial oil and massage gently in circular motion over the crease lines.

The lines are probably not permanent and once you’ve found the cause should go away without any problems.
