Sagging and thinning skin around mouth

by Jo-Ellen
(Norwya, ME USA)

I have tried many high end and otc products, but I guess I need some specialist advice for aging, combo skin.

I'm 51, and my skin is really just beginning to show signs of age..so I'm lucky. But, I have some issues that I've had and new ones developing that I need help with. I have combo/normal skin with a t-zone issue. I'm just starting to see some slackness in my skin...mostly around the sides of my mouth. My bones structure is helping delay slackness in other areas. I have a few wrinkles around the eyes, on the forehead and beside the mouth. Here are the issues. Because of the change in climate (I live in Maine) the heat is causing not dry skin, but moisture depletion near the end of the work day. As I've alread mentioned, I'm beginning to see slackness around the mouth. I also, have blackhead issues on the nose and chin, which I've tried numerous products to no avail. Without proper cleaning I also can have very small blackheads on the outside of my face. Cleansing behavior isn't an issue that causes the blackheads. I'm quite anal about proper cleansing and rinsing. I really need a system that will reach deeply into the pores to help with the blackheads, yet address the slowly thinning skin, slackness around the mouth and lack of lustre. I find that trying to take care of the combo skin with it's issues and addressing the aging issues in conflict with each other. Besides being 51, I am caucasion, fair skinned and blue eyed. I drink liquids constantly during the day. I'm a vegetarian and I don't smoke. Living in Maine poses minimal toxic environmental exposure. Possibly there isn't a solution...I can't stop the aging. I would be grateful for any suggestions.

Thank-you,
Jo-Ellen Carter

Hi Jo-Ellen,
lucky girl, to just start showing signs of aging now! It just shows that a healthy diet makes a huge difference.

Now, for the problems of thinning skin and lack of tone around your chin/mouth area I believe that an anti aging skin treatment such as a non-surgical face lift or photon light therapy would be best. See your trusted skin clinic for a consultation.

For a home treatment I recommend Anti Aging Red Light Therapy. The hand-held red light units are available for home-use and reasonably priced. It is probably my preferred option for your skin, as light therapy can also regulate the oil flow on your skin as well tone and firm the skin.

Benefits of red light therapy are:
Reduces lines and wrinkles
Reduces pigmentation
Enhances circulation
Balances skin tone
Firms your skin
Smoothes pockmarks and scars
Fights acne and dermatitis
Enhances the benefits of skin care products

Read more about Anti Aging Red Light Therapy.

You may not be able to stop the aging process of your skin completely, but you can slow it down by repairing cell damage and speeding up the cell metabolism.

Hope this helps.
If you have any more questions please contact me.

All the best.

Daniela
