Side effects from Retin A?

I am 37 years old and using Retin A .025 %e verynight. Does it have any side effects?
Is Retin A good for anti ageing. can I use it life long. Can I use it around eyes. In the morning I use SPF 20.

Retin A, or in other words Retinol, is Vitamin A in a cream. Clinical trials have shown that it can improve skin conditions such as acne and improve the texture of the skin as well as wrinkles by renewing the skin.

The downside of Retinol is that it can be very drying to the skin. I recommend it only as a course treatment and not for life-long use. It is also not recommended to use it around the eyes as the skin is much more sensitive. In some cases Retinol can cause sensitive skin or an eczema rash.

An alternative to Retinol is probably Vitamin C. It also stimulates the renewal of the skin, but is less harsh on the skin.
