Why do I have breakout on the left side of face only?
For the past year I have been breaking out on the left side of my face only. My skin feels dry for the most part. I maybe in perimenopause. I get facials once a month but the left side still keeps breaking out. My tzone, forehead and around my mouth feels dry. I use a serum mainly on the forehead and crucial moisture at night for my face. In the daytime I use an spf of 15 or higher but that sometimes makes me dry. I wash with biore acne fighting and also use the toner mostly on the breakout area. I started using a light exfoliating scrub everyday (bad idea starting making me even drier). Any advise as I am going nuts over what to do next.
Hi, it seems strange that you only get break outs on one side of the face. Your skin seems very unbalanced, dry at some parts and oily on others. I would recommend to use only products that are balancing. You may find essential fatty acids are helping to regulate your skin condition.
I could think of only a few reasons why you have breakouts only on one side:
-You may sleep preferably on one side. The same side would have contact with the pillow more than the other. This could cause spreading of the bacteria through the pillow case. In this case, make sure you always cleanse your skin thoroughly before going to bed and change your pillowcase regularly.
-You may touch that side of your face with your hands more than the other. Maybe you like to rest that side of your face in your hands. Again, this could cause germs to spread. When dealing with acne, try not to touch your face at all, except for cleansing.
-Another reason could be some sort of issue in your large intestine. When looking at the facial meridians, the left side of the face is connected to the large intestine. You could ask an alternative health professional for advice or try a detox.
Hope this helps. If you have any more questions, please contact me.
All the best.
